IT Systems Administrator – to £28k – Birmingham

IT Systems Administrator is required by an expanding company based in Birmingham. Candidates can expect a salary of up to £28,000.

This role will be responsible for planning, installing and maintaining 45+ server network. Network capacity planning and management for most technologies including H.323 video conferencing.

Exciting opportunities to be involved/run projects for:
Virtualising most of the servers using VMWare
Outsourcing of servers
New backup solution fore the group
Moving 4 exchange servers to an online service
Utilising cloud technologies
Moving administrative tasks to outsourced solutions leaving time for business benefit projects
New telephone system (VOIP)

Key Skills
- Windows Server OS to high level including patch management
- Active directory – multiple domains and international forest
- Mobile devices
- Backup exec
- Disaster recovery
- SQL server
- IIS web servers
- Strong VPN knowledge and strong network security (gateway deep packet inspection, heavy firewall rules and secure routing)
- VMWare (desirable)
