Technical Author - Sandbach / Cheshire - £30k

A Technical Author with previous experience of documenting IT systems is required by our client based near Sandbach in Cheshire. You will be responsible for creating and maintain a variety of user-based documentation for the organisation including: Training Manuals, Reference Guides, Release Notes and Technical Guides.  This is a 6 month fixed term contract and a salary of £30,000 (pro rata) is offered.

-- Duties and Responsibilities --
- Help develop and maintain product documentation, standards and templates.
- Deliver projects on time and within budget
- Work with other departments to ensure all documentation correctly reflects the product.
- Document internal Product Documentation processes and procedures as required.
- Keep all other team members informed of all current Product Documentation activities.
- Proof-read internal and end-user documentation.
- When documenting Software, make Product Testing team aware of bugs and usability issues.

-- Skills / Attributes Required --
-Commercial experience as a Technical Author writing a range of software / technical documentation.
- Understanding of software product development.
- Good knowledge of word processing and desktop publishing software.
- Experience using MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe RoboHelp (or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary – to £30,000 (circa £18 per hour)

Location – Sandbach / Cheshire

The role is within commutable distance of Crewe, Sandbach and Stoke-on-Trent.
