Senior Unix Systems Administrator required by our Client to provide 2nd and 3rd level Unix OS support services, including the progression and resolution of OS problems. Candidates with a background in Banking and Finance are highly desirable Salary to £55k.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Ensuring 2nd/3rd line support issues are dealt with in a timely manner

- Ability to build, install, configure and troubleshoot one or more products within own discipline (i.e. Solaris, Linux, etc.)

- Taking responsibility for the technical implementation, internally or on client site

- Act as a key member of the UNIX team, providing 24x7 support, solution implementation services and input into the future technology roadmaps of the distributed environment.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in the following areas:

- Knowledge of high-end platforms, both servers and storage.

- Good knowledge of relational databases

- Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP, LDAP, LANS, WANS, NIS+, ODS, Storage

- Experience of a trading/banking environment

This is an ideal role for a candidate from a banking background with strong Unix Systems administration experience.

Salary to £55k
